AXION COTTON S.A. POLICY AGAINST CHILD LABOUR

Policy Statement Applicability This policy statement applies to the location specified within its scope: AXION COTTON S.A. 11 Korinthou Street, Metamorfosi, P.C. 144 51 GREECE. At our company, we firmly believe that child labour is unacceptable, as it deprives both young and older children of their educational rights, school attendance, health, free time, and overall development through the valuable and sensitive experiences of childhood.

Thus, at AXION COTTON S.A. M&A CO, we are committed to protecting childhood and future generations through the means available to us:

  • We do not engage in child labour.
  • We do not employ individuals under the age of 18, which is the minimum legal employment age in Greece.
  • We evaluate our suppliers based on their culture and policies regarding child labor practices. Specifically, in countries where national legislation or regulations allow the employment of individuals aged 13 to 15 in light work, such employment must not interfere with their schooling nor be harmful to their health or development. In particular, where children are subject to compulsory education laws, they should only work outside school hours during the regular daily working schedule. Additionally, no person under the age of 18 is employed in hazardous or heavy work, except for training purposes within the framework of approved national laws and regulations.

Furthermore, we ensure that our company eliminates all forms of forced and compulsory labor, and that employment relationships are voluntary and based on mutual consent, without the threat of penalty. We do not tolerate any form of discrimination and respect employees’ rights to participate in lawful activities related to the formation or joining of unions, without any negative consequences for unionized workers.
Additionally, this policy will be reviewed at least annually and will be made available to all interested parties, the employees of AXION COTTON AE, and the accredited certification body.
