GIASCO MAKALU S3 CI WR work boots with lugged 3Cross sole for those who work outdoors or on uneven surfaces, with premium Idrotech leather. Their upper is made of high-quality ‘oiled’ Idrotech WRU leather 1.8-2.0mm thick in combination with nubuck Idrotech WRU leather on the heel.

Idrotech is Giasco's patented technology for special leather processing aimed at improving water resistance and breathability. This way, maximum comfort in all weather conditions and maximum protection from external factors are ensured. Furthermore, this specific processing method, thanks to the use of salts, softens the leather significantly and provides it with complete mechanical resistance to oils and hydrocarbons. Additionally, the ‘oiling’ treatment on the leather gives it an extremely soft texture and a special color, so that the GIASCO MAKALU S3 safety boots look more like quality leather hiking boots than classic work boots.

Their interior is made of a highly breathable soft Windtex membrane with antimicrobial treatment, which is also very resistant to wear from friction. Their tongue is made of soft leather and is padded.

Their S3 certification indicates that they are waterproof safety boots and simultaneously provide toe and sole protection. This protection is metal-free, meaning it consists of a polymer safety material with 200J impact safety, according to EN 12568. Metal-free work shoes are generally preferred because they are simultaneously durable, lightweight, flexible, and comfortable. Furthermore, their design, given that they are safety boots (mid-cut), makes them suitable for long hours of work in environments that require ankle height protection.

The GIASCO MAKALU S3 boots also carry the WR marking, which indicates a fully waterproof shoe (upper and sole). They also include a High Visibility insert material, which makes them easily visible in low light conditions. They are also certified with CI marking for cold protection down to -17° on the sole.

The GIASCO MAKALU S3 CI WR safety boots belong to Giasco's 3Cross series. The 3Cross series features dynamic shoes with a heavily embossed lugged sole. This sole has been specially designed for those who need work boots with a lugged sole because they work outdoors or on uneven surfaces. The 3Cross series belongs to the 3D generation developed by Giasco. This sole therefore has 3 different layers with different densities to increase comfort, slip resistance, and foot stability.

The GIASCO MAKALU S3 CI WR work boots also include an anti-torsion insert (anti-torsion) in the sole to prevent sprains. For people who work outdoors, uneven surfaces are a constant hazard that should not be underestimated. The slightest oversight can cause serious injuries or falls. For this reason, for certain specific types, Giasco has developed a special anti-torsion shank that provides the best possible stability for the shoe on any terrain. But support does not mean rigidity. That's why a specific thermoplastic material has been used that ensures the natural movement of the foot with every step. This anti-torsion technology is particularly suitable for construction sites and the construction industry in general, where the risks from uneven and wet ground are greater. It is also suitable for those who work on ladders (painters, window cleaners, builders), increasing stability at the center of the sole, at the point where we usually stand when on a ladder. This insert limits pressure in the heel area and helps stabilize the arch and ankle.

The insole of the shoe (Memory code) consists of 3 materials for extra comfort with soft latex Memory material that relieves pressure in the heel and arch area. Furthermore, the insole is breathable, removable, anatomical, absorbent, antistatic, and antibacterial.
